Dr Hisham Ziauddeen MRCPsych PhD

I work between Prof. Paul Fletcher’s Health Neuroscience Lab at the Department of Psychiatry and the Wellcome MRC Institute of Metabolic Science. My research focuses on the neuroscience of eating behaviour and how we make everyday decisions about food. I am also particularly interested in psychosis and why antipsychotic drugs cause weight gain as a side effect. I am supported by the Barnard Wolfe Health Neuroscience Fund.

With Iliana Rokkou from CPFT R&D and Sarah Rae from PROMISE global, I also run a service user led teaching programme about mental illnesses for researchers studying these illnesses.
