Dr Laura Moreno-Lopez

Laura completed her PhD at the University of Granada (Spain) which focused in the application of brain imaging to the study of substance dependence. Her PhD included internships in the Division of Anaesthesia (University of Cambridge), Brookhaven National Laboratory (New York) and Department of Psychiatry (University of San Diego). After her PhD, she works in a project aimed to study the neural substrates of obesity. She joined the division of Anaesthesia of the University of Cambridge as a postdoctoral research in June 2013. She works now in the study of Neuroimaging biomarkers for risk and clinical outcome prediction of POD/POCD (Postoperative Delirium/Postoperative Cognitive Dysfunction) (Project BioCog).

Research Interests

I am interested in the study of the neural basis of the cognitive, emotional and behavioural impairments associated with traumatic brain injury, substance addiction and obesity.

I am currently working in two projects aimed to study the neurobiological basis of depression following traumatic brain injury using a combination of structural and functional MRI and Neuroimaging biomarkers for risk and clinical outcome prediction of Postoperative cognitive dysfunction (BioCog)
