Research Interests

My main interests are the mapping of algorithms into multi-core/processor architectures. I am especially interested in how open-source image processing libraries can be broken into functional units which can reside within a variety of parallel processing schemes (making use of the universities HPC service). This includes optimizing message design and data distribution as well as inter-process communication and synchronization within loosely-coupled architectures. The optimized scheduling and resource allocation of job arrays in the context of tightly-coupled architectures. Image processing interests are centered around VBM and voxel-based cortical thickness estimation.
